WP&E Technology proprietory technology systems for spent caustic wastewater treatment utilizing our electrochemical separation, stripping and scrubbing technology enable converting sulfides to insoluble sulfur particles that can be separated easily from the water phase. In addition to removing the sulfides, the system also removes the oils, TOC, VOC’s ( Volatile Organic Compounds) that are in the spent caustic stream. System is designed to work in highly alkaline stream and corrosion resistant.
The WP&E system does not require the need to use acids, ozone, strong chemicals for oxidation, does not need high temperature, high pressure or incineration. There is very less risk of H2S compared to any alternate options. The system also does not need connection to flare or fuel gas. Hence the overall cost and environmental footprint is much lower compared to wet air oxidation, chemical oxidation or incineration .
The technology has been installed successfully at 40-250 m3/day modular processing capacities and capacity can be increased or decreased with additional parallel modules.
